Hello, and welcome to my cosplay portfolio! Growing up in New Jersey, I caught the theatre bug at an early age - a fact to which I credit my love of costumes. As a performer, one of my favorite aspects of doing theatre is the costumes and wigs. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday; I would go crazy trying to get the best costume I could because it was my one chance for the year and I had to make it count.
From the moment I found out what it was, I wanted to cosplay, but I can't sew (though I've begun learning!). When my sister went to her first convention (AnimeNEXT 2008) and came back with all the pictures of people in their costumes. I wanted to do it even more. She started cosplaying and finding great commission deals online, so I finally followed in her footsteps in 2010. It was then that I organized and sponsored the 2010 Nothern New Jersey Cosplay Picnic. So... late to the party, but... fashionably late :P
I went costume crazy when I moved to Central Florida in 2011 and was finally able to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World. I attended my first convention - Holiday Matsuri - in December 2011. Truly, I love to learn and want to grow, so on February 23, 2013 I started sewing classes in the hopes of being able to make my own costumes!
When I'm not frolicking around in costume, I enjoy acting, dancing, aerial hammock, baking, setting up websites, yoga, and spending quality time with the people I love :) Charity work and fundraising is also extremely important to me. Among other endeavors, in 2014 I raised almost $2,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (lovingly called my SHIELD SOCK CANCER campaign) by running the Avenger's Super Heroes Half-Marathon in Anaheim, California; something I hope to make an annual tradition. Anyone can be a hero, no super powers required - capes optional :)
